The Croydon-born sensation is open about heading in a new direction and Melissa, who first worked with Stormzy in 2019 and has been styling him ever since, knew exactly what she wanted to do for Stormzy’s biggest fashion moment to date.
Melissa tells GQ: “With the music video and the clothes in particular we wanted to reflect where he’s going with his personal life, where there’s lots of growth and maturity.”
Melissa says she’s always trying to get Stormzy to look more classy and explained that: “He turned to me and said, ‘with this music video, you can do whatever you like, within reason, of course, but whatever you’ve envisioned for me so far, I will let you just have full rein to do it.'”
He’s typically known for his matching Adidastracksuits, but the new “Mel Made Me Do It” video that’s lit up the internet, shows Stormzy In big fits from labels such as Prada, Valentino, Bottega Veneta and Bianca Saunders.
The new video is full of clothingitems that Stormzy wouldn’t usually wear, but looks very fresh doing so. Personally selected for Stormzy by his stylist Melissa, you can check out the standout garments from the video just below.
