With the FIFA World Cup 2022 just around the corner, we’ve seen plenty of star-studded advertisements from Nike and the latest Adidas campaign featuring a long list of ballers. Now, one of the biggest stars of the tournament, Kylian Mbappé has unveiled his own collaboration with Oakley eyewear.
Based in California, Oakley enlisted the Frenchman as their latest sporting ambassador earlier this year. Since then, Mbappé has fronted a handful of campaigns and product drops and now the generational talent is getting his own pair of sunglasses.
Mbappé’s new Signature Series Deadbolt sunglasses are a nod back to 1998, a time Oakley consider their golden era, that they’ve been celebrating throughout 2022. Not only that, but 1998 is also the year the footballer was born and the year in which France, the host nation, won the World Cup.
A radical and stylish design that celebrates French football, the Signature Series Deadbolt is a vintage aesthetic pair of sunglasses that pairs touches of gold with a blacked-out frame and lenses.
Don’t hesitate to browse through our own range of Oakley sunglasses, coming in all different colours and styles.
The new Deadbolt sunglasses from the Kylian Mbappé range are available in a limited edition run of 1998 units for £274.00 from Oakley.
The FIFA World Cup 2022 kicks off this Sunday (Nov 20) where host nations Qatar will face Ecuador. England will play their first game of the tournament against Iran on Monday 21 Nov at 1:00 pm, while France will play their first game the following day, against Australia at 7:00 pm.
