Never afraid to question the norm, Yohji Yamamoto and his Adidas Y-3 brand once again showcases its elevated approach to sportswear combined with Yamamoto’s avant-garde design codes for an eclectic assortment of apparel and footwear.
Official imagery of Y-3‘s Spring/Summer 2024 collection has just arrived and offers an insight into the heart of Y-3’s innovation, along with Yamamoto‘s genius out-of-the-box thinking that continues to push the boundaries of form and function.
Previous and brand new designs have been inspired by refined workwear-inspired garments, such as the classic Adidas Superstar tracksuit that’s been reworked with technical pockets and adjustable hems.
Steering slightly away from Y-3′s usual athletic approach, the new collection is also composed of floral graphic prints (composed of scans of real flowers) that are applied to a selection of outerwear pieces.
Those with a keen eye for trainers would of noticed the collections new silhouettes coming in the form of Y-3 Stan Smith (first seen in 2022) and Y-3 Country – both designed with collapsible leather with piped details.
More footwear has been included such as the return of the Y-3 Gendo and its Gendo Run counterpart. The Gendo Run arrives in a high-top design and a new outsole that’s decorated in a contrasting floral graphic.
