Fear of God was founded in 2012 as a contemporary menswear brand. Fusing together sportswear and streetwear, it is a favourite for athleisure lovers. Now described as a cult streetwear brand known for its neutral colours and logo branding. The label has also collaborated with other brands such as Nike, Vans and SSense. Fear of God founder, Jerry Lorenzo, recently announced their new clothing line – Essentials.
Essentials was created for a younger audience to provide them with basics for their wardrobe. The collection has a more accessible price point, and the pieces are quite simple. Oversized hoodies, slim fit joggers, boxy tees and denim is what you should expect to find. And with a neutral colour palette, there will always be a perfect item for any outfit. These staple pieces aim to focus on wearability and quality, perhaps why the collection has been so popular this last year. During the Covid-19 lockdowns, Essentials has been trending on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube leading to the pieces selling out. The Essentials tracksuit is a favourite among influencers, but the cheaper price point means the brand is much more accessible. Fear of God tracksuit bottoms will cost around £700 whereas the Essentials tracksuit bottoms are much cheaper at £100.
You can get your hands on Essentials at SSENSE, End Clothing, Mr Porter and StockX. So, take a look at some of our picks from the Essentials collection below. And if you want to see Hox’s review of an Essentials hoodie then make sure to watch the video below.
