Burberry’s latest venture involves transforming Harrods, marking the luxury department store’s 175th anniversary. The month-long takeover, from February 1 to 29, introduces a unique color palette and Burberry checks to Harrods’ iconic green, even extending the theme to the traditional “green men” who welcome customers.
The collaboration also brings a camping-inspired luxury theme, incorporating limited-edition merchandise and a captivating capsule collection featuring over 40 exclusive pieces for women, men, children, and accessories. The store’s facades, including the Brompton Road, will showcase the Burberry Blue transformation, complemented by a newly installed LED lighting project. Burberry’s CEO, Jonathan Akeroyd, emphasises the collaboration as a celebration of British luxury, blending exploration, outdoors, and modern luxury experiences.
As part of Harrods’ 175th anniversary celebrations in 2024, the iconic ‘green men’ door attendants will receive a stylish makeover courtesy of Burberry. Adorning them in new knight-blue check outfits, this collaboration marks a fusion of tradition and contemporary fashion. Alongside this, Harrods has planned a series of captivating celebrations throughout the year, promising exclusive events and limited-edition collaborations to commemorate this historic milestone.
