PSG, the home to superstars like Kylian Mbappé and Lionel Messi, have cooked up a special collaboration with Nike‘s most popular division, the Air Jordan.

Top tier French football club, Paris Saint Germain and Air Jordan have a rich history of collaborating together. To name a few, they’ve worked together on exclusive pairs of Air Jordan 7, Air Jordan 6, Air Jordan 1, and Air Jordan 4.

For this years collaboration, the duo have been working on a collaborative Air Jordan 5 silhouette. As of yet, Nike haven’t made an official statement regarding the collaborative trainers, but now both football and trainer fans can rejoice as we now get our first official look at the new kicks.

Of course, the new Air Jordan 5s have been influenced by France. The colours of the French flag (blue, white, red) have been used across the upper, the tips of the laces, and also on the hang tags attached to mesh panels on the uppers.

The word “paname” which is a nickname for Paris can also be seen on the uppers.

The blue Jumpman logo on the tongue and red button on the laces is in reference to the blue and red of the PSG badge.

Following this new collab, it’s important to realise how far Nike‘s sub brand – Air Jordan has come. The first Air Jordan was created in 1985 to outfit Michael Jordan and the very first Air Jordan 5 design was released later on in 1990.

So far, there is no confirmed release date for the PSG Air Jordan 5s. Although, following the hype surrounding these trainers which is circulating online and on social media, it’s only a matter of time until Nike make an official announcement.
