The new release we’re talking of is the resulting timepiece of a collaboration between Undefeated and G-Shock – the limited-edition DW-6900UDCR23-5 (admittedly, it’s not a name that rolls off the tongue).
Released as a part of G-Shock‘s 40th anniversary celebrations, the watch is now available at a reasonable price and aims to blend the celebratory feeling of the anniversary with the beginning of a fresh creative chapter for the brand.
The limited-edition timepiece is built upon the familiar foundation of G-Shock’s DW-6900 series.
The streetwear-esque that Undefeated have injected into the new timepiece looks like a burst of colour applied to the watch, showcasing a lively yellow dial encased in brown resin. Contrasting blue details, such as Undefeated’s distinctive logo, can be seen adorning the upper part of the dial, set against the yellow backdrop.
Great attention to detail can be seen throughout G-Shock‘s collaborative watch, such as the Undefeated logo that discretely appears in the LED display’s backlight function. When turned on, the wearer will not only be able to read the time in the dark, but also spot the Undefeated logo in the background.
You’d expect a certain level of versatile when thinking of a streetwear-inspired watch and that’s when the extra NATO-style strap comes in. Featured in black with the Undefeated logo patch sewn on the top, this alternative strap transforms the watch into more of a style statement – distinct from its default resin strap.
Witnessing watch collaborations from two entirely different parts of the industry is always fascinating, and I’d say that the G-Shock x Undefeated DW-6900UDCR23-5 timepiece lives up to expectations.
