Earlier this week, Stone Island released a campaign video, revealing their latest Autumn/Winter Collection for the 2020/2021 season. And despite the shadow of uncertainty that sits over the world at the moment, it seems as though Stone Island are anticipating that their customers will be back seeking adventure soon. At least that’s what their latest collection suggests.
For A/W 2020, Stone Island have combined their technical knowledge with a focus on comfort and utilitarian silhouettes. The result? Functional pieces that are suited to all environments, yet don’t sacrifice their luxury feel, such as double-layered trench coats and stretch cotton/wool satin cargo pants.
Innovation and garment technology are at the heart of this Stone Island collection. One embodiment of this, is in the ‘Ghillie Camouflage’ print, a pattern resulting from a 3D effect laser printing technique with special double-recipe garment dyeing, further fabric treatments and the addition of graphics. The result can be seen on pieces such as the ‘plum tone hooded jacket’: a cotton canvas coat offering superior water resistance thanks to its polyurethane resin finish.
Reflective fabrics are another technological advancement that take front and centre in this collection. A grid pattern formed of reflective yarns feature on jackets which illuminate intensely when placed under light.
In keeping with Stone Island’s brand identity, the colours in this collection are mainly neutral; browns, blacks and greys feature heavily with hints of colour being added from slightly brighter rust, mauve and cream shades.
Jackets and outwear build the bulk of the collection but a few knitwear pieces and hoodies also feature which will serve as great transition pieces as we begin to head into the colder months. Then when winter arrives, the use of Gore-Tex fabric and Primaloft padding in this collection’s coats and jackets will keep you warm whilst delivering excellent levels of comfort and style.
With no release date for this collection yet, we figured that we’d show you some of our current favourite Stone Island pieces that you can shop from here. What’s more, many of the pieces are currently discounted so this could be the perfect opportunity to bag yourself an end of season bargain before the new collection launches.
