Not only are cargo trousers super functional and versatile, but they’re extremely comfortable (usually) and have now become a wardrobe staple in modern day fashion.
To try and help anyone feel inspired about how to style and match a set of cargo trousers – we’ve carefully selected 8 sets of cargo trousers and have recommended additional items to complete the look – all available from MR PORTER.

Jerry Lorenzo’s Fear of God Essentials line demonstrates how minimal and simple looks can still qualify as high end fashion. The John Elliotcargo trousers helps complete this grey look for one of those days when you want to do nothing all day but look good while doing it.
Stone Island are experts in crafting cargo trousers and these cargos in navy are some of the freshest cargos currently available. Matched alongside a white Polo Ralph Lauren bear print tee, a Ralph belt bag and NikeAir Max 97s – this discretely colourful fit is perfect for the ever more frequent warm evenings.
This third outfit demonstrates just how well green and black look next to each other. The Polo Ralph Lauren cargos and ACNE Studios bucket hat are both in a stunning olive/army green. This eye catching look is completed with a black and green printed T-shirt from Carhartt WIP and a pair of classic NikeAir Force 1s in white.
A slightly more colourful option, these Carhartt WIPcargo trousers in a neutral beige tone look their absolute best when matched with the baby blue ACNE Studios T-shirt and cream NikeAir Max 97s. Finally, the outfit is completed with the silver Paul Smith bracelet, just a subtle little something to spice up your wrist.
Probably my favourite fit out of the bunch – these C.P. Companycargos are crafted well enough to match the quality of Stone Island. The look is complimented with the addition of one of the iconic Monclerlogo tees in grey. The Paul Smith trainers and Norse Projects cap are examples of how to flawlessly match different designer clothing.
Beige and blue are two more great examples of colours that look good together. The vibrantly navy Incotexcargo trousers match the earthy tones of the Norse Projects tee perfectly. This look is completed with a ACNE Studios pouch and New Balance 2002s – both in slightly different shades of navy but still flawlessly matched
Sometimes, you truly can’t go wrong with a black and white outfit – especially when some stripes are involved. The luxury Monclercotton cargo trousers look their best when worn below the stunning long-sleeved AMI Paris T-shirt. Finished off with the Amiriblack & white trainers and the Givenchybelt bag – this whole look is black & white luxury at its best.
The Pradaslim-fit cargos are another example of luxury cargo trousers, which are well matched with the complimenting, off-white Paul Smithleather trainers. The Norse Projects T-shirt and cap, both in blue, completes our final, well colour coordinated and casually smart outfit.
