Skepta’s showing no signs of slowing down after a very busy couple of weeks. The UK icon now has a collaborative capsule collection with Tremaine Emory’s US based clothing label “Denim Tears” titled “Skepta Tears.”

This comes after Skepta made his debut as a painter just over a week ago, co-curating Southeby’s Contemporary Curated exhibition of up-and-coming talents. His piece “Mama Goes to Market” was valued between £40,000 – £60,000 and sold for an impressive £81,900.

Shortly after the exhibition, Skepta unveiled that his company Big Smoke Corp had partnered with PUMA for an upcoming collaboration titled “Futro.”

They say all good things come in threes and Skepta’s more recent endeavor with Denim Tears will have the superstar feeling unstoppable.

The new ‘Skepta Tears’ collection is directly inspired from Skepta’s painted work “Mama Goes to Market.” The painting is described as an: “abstract concept of home, featuring both traditional and surrealist elements such as the graffiti and printed textiles.”

Denim Tears’ took elements from Skepta debut painting and applied them to a series of apparel and accessories

For the Skepta Tears bottoms, Denim Tears’ used the Levi 501 jeans which remains a staple of his work. The jeans feature a hand-painted style indigo finish, with strikes of white paint from front to back.

The pattern of the hand-painted blues from the bottoms, is retained and reimagined throughout the collection. We can see lighter blue bursting to life across a long sleeve T-shirt, hoodie, and silk scarf.

Finally, to finish off the collection is a short-sleeve T-shirt in white with a copy of “Mama Goes to Market” printed on the front.

Denim Tears and Skepta’s new capsule collection is currently available for pre-orders from the Denim Tears website.

Skepta’s made the headlines at The Hoxton Trend a few times in just over a week and he’s shown no signs of wanting to slow down on his work outside of music, so I’m confident he’ll once again be making headlines soon.
