From Jack Harlow, Action Bronson, to Aminé – New Balance love a collab just as much as someone like Palace and the latest collaborative silhouette from the Boston-based brand and Aminé has finally been unveiled in an expected banana-inspired colourway.
First teased last week, the Portland-born rapper Aminé, has been a New Balance ambassador since last year and while he may of appeared in campaigns, this is his very first New Balance collaboration.
Arguably one of the most stylish rappers in the game right now and being a kind of banana enthusiast, the only surprise of the unveiled look of Amine’s New Balance 610 silhouette is that they some how made a banana-inspired silhouette look above-average.
A banana coloured trainer would sound like an awful idea at first, but what Aminé has done with his New Balance collab is the perfect example of his own, sleek style and love for designing trainers.
The trail running New Balance 610 silhouette has been updated with an upper consisting of a bold yellow mesh base with brown overlays working their way throughout the Banana-themed design.
It’s not a colourway you’d expect to typically find on a pair of trainers and there’s something that I’ve definitely not seen before on any silhouette – a banana floating snow globe that can be seen placed underneath the ankle (below).
Further features include iridescent green panels placed upon the toes, midfoot, and heels for a contrasting finish atop of a brown outsole.
Aminé took to Instagram to speak on the collab: “I was obsessed with trying to become a sneaker designer at some point but didn’t think it was possible ’til I met Louis. I’ve wanted to do this for so long but hip-hop found me at the right time in my life.
“I’ve learned to accept and see the beauty in everything you’ve been given. There’s not a lot of people where I’m from that have had a chance to do this and I want to make sure I’m not the last.”
We’ve only just been given an official look at the new design but as of right now, there’s no release date details for the Aminé x New Balance 610.
