Off-White™ unveils its new Pre-Spring 2024 collection that’s full of not so subtle references to Michael Jordan, although it isn’t a collaboration with the Jordan Brand.
Despite the latest collection referencing but not in collaboration with Nike’s Jordan Brand, we assume they’re all still on good terms as we’ve seen plenty of Off-White™ x Jordan team-ups in the past and Off-White™ x Nike Air Force 1 collabs are still on the way.
It’s evident that Off-White™ are simply using Michael Jordan, not the brand, as a visual motif to possibly be the collection’s USP for Pre-Spring 2024.
The most noticeable reference is the number 23 appearing on lots of items – the number Jordan wore while playing for the Chicago Bulls. Taking things full circle, Off-White™ collaborated with the Chicago Bulls on a exclusive clothing capsule earlier this year.
Off-White™ Pre-Spring 2024 is simply a collection of luxury Michael Jordan referenced apparel that consists of a variety of basketball jerseys, track jackets, shorts, cardigans, denimwear, jewellery, bucket hats, chunky new trainers and even tailored pieces.
Whether the creative director of Off-White™, Ib Kamara, is simply nodding to Michael Jordan’s legacy within his Pre-Spring collection or if this is Kamara hinting at something potentially in the works between Off-White™ and Jordan, only time will tell.
