On 26 March 1987, Nike debuted its first sneaker showcasing Air technology through a visible window. They called it the Air Max 1. 35 years later we are still celebrating the innovative shoe and Nike are constantly revamping it with new designs and collaborations. Head over to Nike to see their full Air Max 1 collection.
Sneaker boutique Concepts are always collaborating with other brands and every time they nail it. They previously worked on the Nike Dunk and Kyrie Irving custom shoes which were a success, and today images have been leaked online of a Concepts and Nike Air Max 1 collaboration.
This first look shows two pairs of Air Max 1’s that feature an array of colours, patterns and materials. Deon Point, creative director of Concepts, clearly isn’t afrad of a bold look. With no element left untouched the Air Max 1’s sport uppers made from contrasting materials such as denim and bovine fur. Paisley prints are combined with Native American art and bandanas. Yet the brightly coloured, striped Swooshes still stand out.
