In the Summer of 2021, we got the first look at Virgil Abloh’s SS22 Louis Vuitton collection. And last month we saw the Louis Vuitton runway show – which was also a tribute to Virgil Abloh. The sneaker world went into a frenzy, not only did Abloh design incredible menswear designs for the runway but he also showcased the Louis Vuitton X Nike Air Force 1’s. The hype around the shoes almost detracted from the rest of the collection.

Once known as a basketball shoe, the Air Force 1 is now one of the most beloved trainers in the world. And during the Louis Vuitton SS22 show, the Air Force 1 united three of the biggest names in the industry. During the show we saw at least ten pairs in a multitude of colourways both understated and extravagant. You can see Abloh’s signature style with quotation marks and co-branded text as well as LV monogrammed canvas. The launch was rumoured to have been planned for late 2021 to coincide with the Louis Vuitton show, but following Abloh’s passing, the collection was postponed.
