Keeping within tradition, Louis Vuitton will be providing the travel trunk for the this years World Cup Trophy and they’re also set to leave their mark on the tournament through an officially licensed capsule collection of leather goods.

Top flight football in 2022 has become increasingly difficult to keep up with. Due to a number of unseen circumstances, including the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II – many English Premier League matches will now be played in intense proximity.

Although this high intensity of near back-to-back matches is around the corner, international teams are preparing for the trip to Qatar this winter to take part in the unconventional FIFA World Cup 2022.

Once again, Louis Vuitton will be making an impact at the tournament, only this time it won’t just be for providing the travel trunk for the trophy, but for their five-piece collectable travel bag collection.

Not only is this years FIFA World Cup unconventional, but its also controversial. Due to the severe climate of Qatar, the games, which are traditionally held in the summer, will now be played in the winter.

Debates have been sparked about Qatar’s suitability to hold the games, its limited footballing history, human rights concerns and fairness concerning the bidding process to host. Despite all this, the competition is set to go ahead.

The upcoming capsule collection from Louis Vuitton, delivers a five-piece collectible collection in black Taurillon leather, with each embossed with a specific pattern that shows the look of a ball hitting the back of the net.

We know that the Louis Vuitton FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 collection includes backpacks, holdalls, smaller carries and will be available from selected Louis Vuitton stores and online from Thursday 6 October.

Louis Vuitton have been providing the travel trunk for the World Cup Trophy since 2010. The French fashion house has also created bespoke leather goods for the Rugby World Cup and League of Legends’ – establishing themselves as rather rooted within sport.

Don’t hesitate to check out some Louis Vuitton clothing and accessories from Selfridges or this unique collection of pre-owned Louis Vuitton bags and accessories from Farfetch.
