After nearly seven years at the helm, Kim Jones has officially stepped down as the artistic director of Dior Men. The fashion house confirmed his departure following the presentation of the Fall 2025 collection, marking the end of an era for Dior’s menswear line. Speculation about Jones’ exit had been circulating for months, particularly during the latest Paris Menswear Fashion Week.
His departure comes shortly after receiving France’s highest distinction, the Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur, presented by Anna Wintour. In an official statement, Delphine Arnault, chairman and CEO of Dior, expressed gratitude for Jones’ contributions:
“I am extremely grateful for the remarkable work done by Kim Jones, his studio, and the ateliers. With all his talent and creativity, he has constantly reinterpreted the house’s heritage with genuine freedom of tone and surprising, highly desirable artistic collaborations.”
Jones also shared his appreciation for his time at Dior:
“It was a true honour to have been able to create my collections within the House of Dior, a symbol of absolute excellence. I express my deep gratitude to my studio and the ateliers who have accompanied me on this wonderful journey. They have brought my creations to life. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the artists and friends I have met through my collaborations. Lastly, I feel sincere gratitude towards Bernard and Delphine Arnault, who have given me their full support.”
A Central Saint Martins graduate, Jones launched his own brand between 2003 and 2008 before joining Louis Vuitton in 2011 as the artistic director of men’s ready-to-wear. During his five-year tenure, he played a key role in merging streetwear and luxury fashion, most notably through the Louis Vuitton x Supreme collaboration, which redefined the industry’s approach to high-end skatewear.
In 2018, Jones was appointed as artistic director of Dior Men, where he introduced numerous collaborations, starting with KAWS and later working with Shawn Stussy, Eli Russell Linnetz, and Stone Island. He also oversaw the launch of Dior Men’s first-ever couture collection. In addition to his work at Dior, he took on the role of artistic director of Fendi’s womenswear line in 2020, a position previously held by Karl Lagerfeld.
Jones’ Fall 2025 collection, unveiled earlier this month, was notably more subdued in tone, contrasting with the vibrant colour palettes of his previous work. Many interpreted the collection as a reflective conclusion to his time at Dior.
While there is no official word on Jones’ next move, his departure leaves room for speculation about potential new projects or leadership roles within the fashion industry.
