Compton’s own Kendrick Lamar, performed songs from his new album ‘Mr. Morale And The Big Steppers’, yesterday at the Luis Vuitton (LV) ‘Men’s Spring-Summer 2023 Show’ that occurred in Paris – as part of the city’s annual Fashion Week.

Kendrick performed four songs from his new album, three of which he had never performed live before: ‘Rich Spirit’, ‘Count Me Out’, ‘Saviour’ and his most popular track from the new album according to Spotify – ‘N95’.

The hip-hop sensation chose to remain seated during the entirety of his performance, yet in true Kendrick fashion he done this in style by wearing a crown of thorns (like from his album cover) and sported a Louis Vuitton-designed suit while he sat amongst spectators on the runway.

A replay of the livestream can be found just below, with Kendrick’s performance beginning around 12:55.

Kendrick also took the time and effort to pay tribute to the late Virgil Abloh, who was the creative director of Luis Vuitton (2018 – 2021) right up until his untimely passing. This tribute involved Kendrick and eventually the entire crowd chanting “long live Virgil” over the beat of ‘N95’.

Sometimes dubbed “the greatest rapper alive” (sorry Drake fans), Kendrick Lamar has been keeping himself busy thus far this summer. While in France, Kendrick performed in Cannes on Monday night (June 20) as part of a Spotify event.

He soon then moved on to Italy, performing at the Milano Summer Festival on Thursday night (June 23). Kendrick’s week only gets even bigger, even for his standards as this weekend he’s scheduled to headline Glastonbury Festival, alongside fellow headliners Billie Eilish and Paul McCartney.

We all had to wait a long 5 years to hear another solo album from Kendrick Lamar which finally arrived back in May.

‘Mr. Morale And The Big Steppers’ is different from Kendrick’s previous albums but he stays true to his usual pattern of including a number of meanings and themes, from the struggles of freedom, fame, and regret to name a few.

The Guardian described Kendrick’s most recent body of work as: “With dazzling wordplay and caustic candour, Lamar tries to unpick the harm done to him and by him.”

The album received universal approval from some big names in the industry such as Tyler, The Creator, Lupe Fiasco, Eminem and Pharrell Williams.
