Two years have passed since Nike teamed up with Kasino – the streetwear hub of South Korea for a collaborative pair of Dunks, and now they’re both back to release two new collaborative pairs of Air Max 1.
Last time the duo linked up was in 2020 for a collaborative pair of the Nike Dunk, and now the pair are back again for a remix of a different iconic Nike trainer in the Air Max 1.
This new collaboration is to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Kasina, one of South Korea’s biggest skateboard and streetwear shops. As well as also celebrating the 35th anniversary of the Air Max 1 which passed on March 26.
New materials are used as well as two new colourways which are inspired from the Won-Ang Ducks, a set of carved wooden ducks typically gifted to newlywed couples.
Released under the title of “Made To Be Together,” the new Air Max 1’s feature a hairy suede overlay panels with leather uppers and pony hair.
The Nike Air Max 1 has been an iconic trainer for 35 years now and it makes you think that without the Air Max 1, we would of missed out on so many that followed.
Kasina confirmed on their Instagram account that the two Won-Ang duck-inspired Air Max 1 collaborations will be released at Kasina stores on June 4 and on the Nike app “SNKRS” on June 8.
