While Kanye’s been making headlines with his very public dispute with Adidas and GAP, we’ve decided to focus on the upcoming YEEZY GAP SHDZ which appear to already be in circulation with people close to Kanye.
The DONDA artist has sent the reflective, shield-like sunglasses to many people he deemed worthy enough, in a campaign to create excitement around their official release.
Celebrities including Lil Uzi Vert, Quavo, Takeoff, Kim Kardashian, Steve Lacy and basketball player Jaylen Brown have been seen modelling the new YEEZY GAP SHDZ, even North West gave them a try.
Kanye first debuted the YEEZY GAP SHDZ at Rolling Loud Miami on July 22, where he surprised fans with an appearance to perform a one-song set after pulling out of the festival when he was originally named headliner.
Only yesterday Kanye teased an advertisement campaign for the product when ‘yeezyxgap’ posted a short video of second long clips of different celebrities sporting the sunglasses captioned: “YZY PROTO SHDZ AD V1 COMING SOON.”
Despite the celebrity support, the YEEZY eyewear doesn’t exactly look completely convincing I’ll have to admit.
The seemingly flimsy construction of the YEEZY GAP SHDZ and the what seems to look like a piece of string that holds them on to your face, has onlookers considering if they’re worth copping.
As of now, YEEZY has been unable to provide information regarding a release date and price for the sunglasses, but we can probably expect them not to be cheap.
Whether you intend to buy or not, the YEEZY GAP SHDZ are unique and definitely something we’ll notice a person wearing as we pass them.
