The luxury fashion house of Gucci are fresh off the back of launching their second Adidas collection with a focus on footwear and have just now dropped their new line of retro low-top basketball-inspired trainers from the 1970s and 1980s – the MAC80.

Available now from Farfetch, the new MAC80 range features a padded, cushioned, ventilated construction that’s centered around a textile panel with an interlocking “G” motif placed in the center.

The “G” motif features a light discolour while a yellow-aged midsole also features to ensure that the vintage aesthetic is achieved. 

It’s been pointed out that Gucci‘s new MAC80 range, holds some similarities to the popular silhouette that accounted for 36% of New Balance sales during 2022 – the NB 550.

The MAC80 is of course far from a carbon-copy and is clearly it’s own fresh design that launches at Farfetch in six colourways that feature shades of white, red, blue, emerald green, and black.
