US rapper Kanye West, who has legally changed his name to Ye, has been suspended from Twitter after being accused of “inciting violence” over a series of offensive tweets.
Ye posted a series of questionable tweets last night (Thursday 1 Dec), where one of the tweets in question showed a symbol that seemed to combine a swastika and a Jewish star.
These tweets occurred on the same day that Ye was interviewed by US conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, where Ye shockingly praised Nazi leader Adolf Hitler and went on a rant about sin, pornography, and the devil.
Twitter’s new boss, Elon Musk was asked by one user to “fix Kanye.” Musk responded by saying he tried, but Ye “violated our rule against incitement to violence. Account will be suspended.”
I tried my best. Despite that, he again violated our rule against incitement to violence. Account will be suspended.

Chief Executive of the UK’s Holocaust Educational Trust, Karen Pollock explained: “These comments mixed with his high profile and huge following have dangerous consequences.”
Ye has made numerous headlines recently, all for the wrong reasons. In recent months he caused upset with a series of antisemitic and racist comments, resulting in clothing brands such as Adidas cutting ties with the rapper.
West’s first suspension from Twitter and Instagram came in October, after he posted his first series of antisemitic messages. These posts came not long after Ye received a lot of backlash for his “White Lives Matter” T-shirts he boasted during Paris Fashion Week.
His most recent Twitter ban came only hours after it was confirmed that the right-wing social media platform Parler, put rumours to bed and confirmed that Ye could no longer buy the site.
The site that advertises itself as a “free speech” alternative to mainstream social media platforms, explained in a statement that: “The company has mutually agreed with Ye to terminate the intent of sale.”
Zero sympathy is awarded to him, but this can’t of been a good week for Ye as only two days ago he was ordered by a Los Angeles court to pay his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, $200,000 (£166,000) a month in child support as they settle their divorce.
Now that he’s not a billionaire anymore and has to fork out £166,00 a month, maybe Ye’s wishing that GoFundMe page to make him a billionaire again never got taken down.
West was diagnosed with bipolar disorder years ago, and while he’s publicly expressed his challenges with his mental wellbeing, medical experts have warned that mental health issues do not match up with antisemitism.
Hopefully Ye starts receiving the help and support he clearly needs so that he can stop hurting thousands of people with his words and so that I can stop writing negative pieces about someone who use to be my favourite rapper.
