Having worked together back in 2003, the Nike x eBay Dunk Low is possibly one of the most interesting Nike drops of the 2000s.
Three pairs were produced in 2003 with one of the pairs being auctioned off on eBay with all the proceedings going to a foundation dedicated to Tim Braunch, an American skateboarder who died from cardiac arrest aged 25.
Another pair was gifted to the late Nike SB designer Sandy Bodecker as a retirement gift, while the other was cut into four pieces, for some reason…
However, now the Bodecker Foundation is teaming up with eBay and Nike SB to “put the pieces back together again” – in reference to the pair that was cut into four.
The now revealed eBay x Nike SB Dunk Low “2022” trainers offer a very unique look that’s inspired by the cut-up pair which is now seemingly put back together with transparent panels.
The same colourway as the previous pair has been used, although a new design has been incorporated.
Some more features include Nike SB branding atop the tongue and heel tabs, and the usual Dunk Low wordmark has been replaced with the phrase: #NIKESBFOREVER
The insole graphics are in remembrance of Sandy Bodecker as the right insole shows Bodecker trying on the original pair, while the left shows him with Nike employee James Arizumi’s son.
Along with matching socks in blue and yellow, you can pick up your own pair of the eBay x Nike SB Dunk Low trainers for £109.95 from Nike on Saturday 17 December at 8:00 am.
