The talked-about London streetwear label, Corteiz, has combined their talents with British-Nigerian artist Olaolu Slawn and London-based director Walid Labri for a new mini-movie titled “DA SKYDIVE,” which also celebrates the launch of the Corteiz “DA SKYDIVE” leather jacket.
Following a busy year for Corteiz, full of collaborations with such names as Dave, Central Cee, and Meeks plus a number of giveaways including a recent T-shirt giveaway in Lagos, Nigeria.
The London-based streetwear label is signing off the year with an independently-shot short film, with the new “DA SKYDIVE” leather jacket being the center piece for the new video as well as a new 30-garment collection that it scheduled to drop tomorrow (Saturday 24 Dec).
Olaolu Slawn is a Nigerian skater born in Lagos who resides in London. He co-founded the skate brand Motherlan in 2017 and was shown support for his work from Virgil Abloh when the two collaborated on a skate project.
During the promo video, Slawn is seen plummeting from great heights into the depths of central London as he crashes atop of a taxi while wearing the Corteiz “DA SKYDIVE” jacket.
The short film is directed by long-term associate of Corteiz, Walid Labri with the help of brand owner Clint. Great attention to detail is made throughout the clip as we can see number plates, shop names and signs all rebranded with Corteiz slogans.
The “DA SKYDIVE” jacket has a dropped-shoulder design, white tailored detailing around the sleeves and waist area and of course debossed Corteiz branding on the chest and back. The black leather design is finished off with “DA SKYDIVE” branding on the internal lining of the collar.
The full collection, led by the new leather jacket and featuring T-shirts, tracksuits and accessories is expected to drop on the Corteiz website on Saturday 24 December.
