Fear of God was founded in 2013 by no other than Jerry Lorenzo. As a young brand, the label has accumulated great success, being recognized by huge names including Michael B Jordan, Justin Bieber, Kanye West and Jonathan Cheban. As the brand continues to develop, it works towards creating streetwear which is affordable, undoubtedly stylish and distinctive. Over the years, the brand has collaborated on projects with leading labels such as Nike and Vans.
Recently, Fear of God have released their newest collaborative collection of baseball caps, partnering with iconic American brand, New Era, to create a timeless looking range. The collection, which is inspired by American baseball, and Lorenzo’s very own heritage in particular, features a nostalgic campaign centred around the sport itself.
The design of the caps feature a traditional F script style logo, which pays homage to the Detroit Tigers cap which Lorenzo’s father wore during his first professional season in the Major Leagues. Every design also features the unmistakable New Era branding.
The Fear of God x New Era Baseball Caps are available in four striking colourways, including orange, green, navy and black. Furthermore, as part of the collection, a snapback cap is also lined up to become available, inspired by the KC Monarchs. The snapback, which will be dropped later on this year, adorns larger patches and detailing, and text which commemorates the 100th year of the Negro League. Proceeds from the release will be donated to the Negro League Museum, which is based in Kansas City.
Both choices will make the perfect accessory for the late summer (or any season) and are not pieces to miss out on. With such a variety of styles, these pieces are suited to anyone who can appreciate the magic of a simple accessory to complete an outfit, or in this case, a cap.
