Not many partnerships in fashion are as long-lasting or consistent as the collaborative work between Adidas and Yohji Yamamoto’s Y-3 project that’s been working with the Three Stripes label since 2002.
20 years later, the sportswear label and established designer from Japan have changed the worlds of fashion and sportswear and the duo are now set to launch the second installment from their SS23 range.
The first chapter of its SS23 collection launched in January and drew its inspiration from “destroyed elegance” and chapter 2 explores the “absence of technical effort.”
The second SS23 installment is titled “Technical Effortlessness,” an idea that encapsulates Yamamoto’s approach to fashion.

Together, Yamamoto and Adidas in their Y-3 project use the inspiration of utilitarian workwear to craft a new collection of outerwear, suits, and cargo trousers.
With more pieces including caps and trainers, the new collection focuses on the colour scheme of black with shades of navy blue and burnt orange also making an appearance.
Demonstrating raw outdoor-ready detailing, the durable and light GORE-TEX has been used to craft pieces such as the Y-3 Terrex Swift R3 GTX – the new leading footwear from the collection.
If you’re liking the look of new Adidas Y-3 capsule, the second SS23 collection is scheduled to launch This Friday, April 7 from the Adidas webstore.
