Belstaff Unveils New Manchester Store, Celebrating a Century of Innovation

Belstaff has officially opened the doors of its new Manchester store, continuing its evolution with a design concept first introduced at the Regent Street flagship in September 2023. This new location represents a significant milestone in Belstaff’s centenary celebrations, marking 100 years since its founding.

Situated just a stone’s throw from the brand’s original Manchester store, the new Northern flagship at 48 King Street spans two floors and includes a unique VIP and event space. The store’s design pays homage to Belstaff’s roots with Staffordshire Blue floor tiles that nod to its hometown of Stoke-on-Trent and hand-sewn oak furniture crafted by Studio Fonk.

To celebrate the opening, Belstaff is offering complimentary drinks over the weekend and will gift tote bags with every purchase made from Monday, August 26, while stocks last. On Thursday, August 29, visitors can enjoy complimentary coffees from Little Coffee Bee. The festivities also include a ‘Find the Phoenix’ competition that will take place in the streets surrounding the store, with details to be revealed on the brand’s Instagram.

The store’s design was developed in collaboration with the Scandinavian architecture and interior design studio Specific Generic (known for their work with Acne and On Running). The concept, inspired by Belstaff’s rich motoring heritage, envisions a “future garage” that balances tradition with innovation. Materials were carefully chosen to reflect the tension between the old and new, mirroring the brand’s ongoing evolution.

A Brief History Of Belstaff

Manchester holds a special place in Belstaff’s history. It was here that founders Eli Belovitch and Harry Grosberg first conceived the idea for the brand, before establishing their first factory in nearby Stoke-on-Trent in 1924. Opening this new store exactly 100 years later underscores Belstaff’s enduring connection to the North of England.

The store will feature Belstaff’s seasonal and motorcycle collections for both men and women, as well as a range of accessories and footwear. The Autumn/Winter 2024 collection and a special Centenary capsule will also be available in drops throughout August and September.
