Amiri: Brand, History and Founder

AMIRI is a luxury streetwear brand founded in 2014 by Mike Amiri, an American designer known for his rock-and-roll-inspired aesthetic. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Mike Amiri began his career by custom designing stage outfits for rock musicians, which laid the foundation for his distinct style that blends high fashion with street culture. AMIRI quickly gained popularity for its premium craftsmanship, hand-distressed denim, leather jackets, and graphic tees, often featuring intricate details like hand-painted designs and unique embellishments.

The brand’s rapid success can be attributed to its ability to capture the rebellious spirit of rock culture while maintaining an air of luxury. AMIRI’s collections often reflect the influences of Los Angeles’ music scene, vintage Americana, and the grunge aesthetic, appealing to both celebrities and fashion-forward consumers.

In 2019, the brand took a significant step towards expansion when Renzo Rosso’s OTB Group, which owns labels like Diesel and Maison Margiela, acquired a minority stake in AMIRI. This partnership allowed AMIRI to scale its operations globally while retaining creative control under Mike Amiri’s leadership.

As of now, Mike Amiri remains the creative force behind the brand, continuing to design and oversee its collections, while OTB Group supports the brand’s growth and international presence.
