It’s been just over a week since Adidas released the game-changing ADIZERO Adios Pro Evo 1 runner trainers and we’ve never seen a shoe have such a remarkable debut.
What stands out the most from this new offering from Adidas is that the trainers weigh an impressive 40% less than any other previous Adidas trainer, whilst being full to the brim with advanced technology.
Proving the positive evolution of the ADIZERO franchise, the Adios Pro Evo 1 introduces a redesigned structure with a groundbreaking forefoot rocker positioned at 60% of the shoe’s length. This innovation enhances running efficiency, meaning you can run faster with less effort.
There’s already proof of this as last Sunday (Sep 24), Ethiopia’s Tigist Assefa set a new women’s marathon world record in Berlin, completing the race in an impressive 2:11:53 – over two minutes faster than the previous record.
Before the race, Charlotte Heidmann, Adidas‘ Senior Global Product Manager, explained: “We drew inspiration from the Adios Pro 3 and explored ways to push the boundaries of technology further, making the shoe even lighter.”
“The shoe’s featherweight quality is its standout feature. We take immense pride in achieving this reduced weight while maintaining innovation without compromising performance.”
In addition to the genius forefoot rocker, the Adios Pro Evo 1 boasts the latest iteration of adidas’ LIGHTSTRIKE PRO foam, reducing the shoe’s weight while delivering the highest level of energy return.
If that wasn’t enough, the Adios Pro Evo 1‘s outsole features new technology designed to provide optimal traction at a much lower weight. A new mesh upper completes the shoe’s overall lightweight design.
Unfortunately, the only catch is the price. The ADIZERO Adios Pro Evo 1 launched on September 14 in limited quantities and came with the hefty price tag of £400.
Moritz Hoellmueller, Adidas’ Vice President Design Global Running, explained that: “It’s not an ordinary shoe; it’s not something we can produce like any other,”
“Think of it as an investment in a game-changing shoe – something even more exceptional than an already outstanding product.”
