Starting tomorrow, Adidas presents the Consortium Cup – a four week long footwear design tournament with 16 recognisable footwear retailers going head to head for the chance to be crowned champions.
Organised in a four round knockout format with a theme for each round, the Consortium Cup is the first of its kind.
the 16 featured retailers are as followed: Overkill, Nice Kicks, Hanon, END., Exhibition, Footpatrol, Extra Butter, Bait, Commonwealth, BSTN, Kasina, HAL Studios, Politics, Carnival, Offspring, and Mita Sneakers.
Every Thursday the competition will open for 48 hours of voting where the stores receiving the most votes in each matchup will progress deeper into the tournament.
The winning shoe from each round will be produced in limited amounts and made available for purchase at a later date. Overall, a total of 15 new pairs of trainers will go from a concept to the store shelves.
The only form of voting will be through your Adidas Confirmed account using the app. Installing the app will also give you a better chance at purchasing a pair of the new trainers that will be produced in limited amounts after winning their respective round of the tournament.
The Round of 16 is set to focus on Adidas‘ classic silhouettes with the Samba, Gazelle, and Superstar set to all be a popular choice. The Quarterfinal will highlight the Three Stripes’ basketball heritage, the Semi-Final will explore running innovations, and a secrete Finale round is also on the cards.
During the tournament, the Adidas Confirmed App will also reveal an array of content, from behind the scenes looks to gameday style analysis.
30 designs, 16 retailers, 4 rounds, 1 champion – tune into Adidas Confirmed tomorrow for the start of The Consortium Cup.
