The newest Yeezy 350 colourway is set to release next week
By Hollie Gwinnett | May 19, 2020The Yeezy Boost 350 is one of the most beloved sneakers from Adidas and arguably the preferred Yeezy sneaker. And set to release on 30th May is the new ‘Zyon’ colourway’, retailing at £180 and available from Adidas. We first got a look at the Zyon in February and the long-awaited sneaker is almost here.
Kanye West was once primarily known for his rap career (and for that moment at the MTV VMA’s). However, since then he has grown his own Yeezy fashion brand, become a huge influence for men’s fashion, and released numerous pairs of sneakers through his collaboration with Adidas.
Kanye West has been a part of Adidas since 2013, not releasing his first sneaker, the Yeezy Boost 350 in a ‘Turtle Dove’ colourway until 2015. Since then he has continued to extend its catalogue with multiple iterations and new colourways. Vogue magazine calls the sneakers “the real heroes of the Yeezy empire”. The fact that the sneaker continues to be updated with new colourways which sell out almost immediately prove how loved and sought after the Yeezy sneakers are.
The news of the Yeezy Boost 350 ‘Zyon’ comes after Kanye West was announced as a billionaire by Forbes claiming that the Yeezy was “one of the great retail stories of the century”. His stake in Yeezy is said to be worth £1 billion alone.
The Boost 350 v2 made its debut in 2016 and very quickly became Adidas’ most successful silhouette. This shoe is known for its great breathability and lightness. It’s perfect as a casual summer shoe, to wear to the gym, or to dress up any fit to instantly make it cooler. Utilising Adidas’ Boost technology which ensures the shoe is comfortable, almost like walking on memory foam, the Boost 350 v2 will continue to be a hit.
Similar to previous iterations, the Zyon features a prime knit upper, a Boost midsole and a translucent side stripe. The styling of the upper is also very similar to the Yecheil model which dropped last December. Looking at the sneakers colour scheme, it is very typical for Kanye’s appreciation for neutral tones. Kanye has gone back to a much more toned down colourway; the Zyon sneaker has grey and earthy hues, with a light cream base, and a brown prime knit upper with crosshatch markings throughout. This is all tied together with a dark brown stripe on the lateral side. Unlike recent 350 v2 iterations, Kanye opted to remove the heel tabs.
You know what its like trying to get your hands on the newest pair of Yeezy’s, as they sell out at a rapid rate. So, make sure to set a reminder for 30th May so that you can cop a pair. Available at Adidas. https://prf.hn/l/7ggGNv4
