The Munich-based retailer that specialises in streetwear and new trainer releases – BSTN is set to open its very first international flagship store in the heart of Brixton.
The new London store on Brixton Road combines BSTN‘s streetwear DNA with high-tech contemporary materials with a retro-futuristic interior to create a destination unlike any other.
The new store balances minimalist designs and dynamic changes of tone, take a detailed look below:Â
BSTN‘s first international endeavor is set to open on Saturday 28 January in London, Brixton.
Some eye-catching features of the new London store includes its ability to shift between multiple stylistic scenarios by blending futuristic LED panels with classic vintage elements.Â
Smooth monolithic surfaces of stainless-steel and sanded concrete help emphasis the warmth of the store’s wooden interiors.Â
My personal favourite feature is the curved serrated aluminum roof on the ceiling which has been preserved for decades while the store space was used as a bank, and it’s not only now exposed but turned into a visual feature through the introduction of two 8m-LED panels.
BSTN understand the importance of community and with this in mind, the upper floor of the new 360 sqm store will host a dedicated community hub. Dubbed the ‘B-Hive,’ It’ll be used as a multi-purpose event space, hosting community events ranging from panel talks to workshops and charity events.Â
From the large-scale LED panels on the walls and ceiling, to BSTN‘s attention to detail such as the hand-engraved bronze plaques in the entry area – BSTN takes pride in going the extra mile and their new Brixton store is only an extension of this.Â
