It’s been over 20 years since Stüssy and Nike began their successful partnership. From the Zoom Spiridon Cage 2 to the Air Max 2013, Stüssy has helped shed a light on a few of Nike’s more forgotten silhouettes and 2023 will bring back the Nike Vandal.

Originally released two years after the Air Force 1 in 1984, It’s been years since we’ve seen a new colourway of the forgotten Nike Vandal High silhouette, but that’s all about to change thanks to the Californian skate/surf brand.

Showcased in a ‘Deep Royal Blue,’ Stüssy‘s iteration of Nike‘s forgotten basketball silhouette will also return in ‘Black’ and ‘Fossil’ colourways.

The traditional leather and nylon upper has been replaced with a full hemp construction, while the Nike Swoosh branding takes it place on the usual sidewalls and a Velcro fastened strap around the collar provides extra support and comfort.

Stüssy’s famous eight-ball logo takes its place on the tongue tabs while a crisp white midsole infused with EVA foam rounds off the design.

The Vandal features a very similar design and aesthetic as its 1980s released cousin, the Air Force 1. Being released so close to what is arguably Nike’s most legendary silhouette, is possibly the reason why the Vandal never enjoyed the same levels of success as the AF1.

Arriving just in time to enjoy its 40th birthday, the upcoming Stüssy x Nike Vandal High is expected to launch sometime in June from Stüssy and Nike SNKRS for approximately £110.
