Included as part of its Spring/Summer 2023 offering, Stone Island have just unveiled a new range of “Ghost Pieces” that are completely monochromatic and derived from the concept of camouflage.
This season, Stone Island’s Ghost Pieces range focuses on just two tones – beige and army green. The iconic Stone Island badge has also been created using a special monochromatic effect to blend in with the colour of the garment.Â
The scientists at Stone Island crafted this collection with 100% organic fabric construction developed from the finest, long-staple cotton fibre for their extensive outerwear options and Bermuda shorts.Â
The combination of dense weaving and swelling properties of the fibre when wet, provides a useful all-weather barrier, without the need for coating or lamination.Â
Stone Island‘s “Ghost Pieces” still largely focuses on outerwear. For me, the Field Jacket is a big standout silhouette – complete with a standing collar, frontal pockets and two hidden snap fastenings.
Among the silhouettes is also the Fishtail Parka, which unsurprisingly comes with a fishtail bottom line on its back, plus drawstring and snaps inside for shortening the length of the coat.Â
The Hooded Sweatshirt demonstrates a minimalistic design with a front elasticated drawstring and cotton jersey lining. Further more, the jumpers have all been crafted with 5-gauge cotton frisé yarn and the sweatshirts from organic cotton heavy fleece.Â
Stone Island released their first line of Ghost Pieces in 2011 and its since evolved into iconic seasonal staple pieces for the Italian luxury label.Â
Characterised by their monochromatic palettes that includes a range of hues, the Ghost Pieces stand as an extreme interpretation of traditional camouflage.Â
