Stone Island Release Their New Spring/Summer Chambray Collection.

March 17, 2021

Once again, Stone Island are breaking boundaries with their latest collection. The Chambray Collection for Spring/Summer 2021 is one with a bit more of a vintage, even slightly nautical look. The new collection is an online exclusive for this season, so be sure to shop soon to make sure that you don’t miss out.

Stone Island are best known for creating revolutionary menswear collections. With the use and development of multiple technical fabrics, like the iconic heat reactive fabric, 3M reflective materials and the classic garment dying techniques, Stone Island have been at the forefront of modern men’s fashion for decades. Founded by Massimo Osti in the early 80’s, the brand has evolved leaps and bounds. Stone Island was recently sold as part of a deal, when the parent brand Sportswear Company SPA went up for sale. Alongside stake holders Rivetti and Rivetex, the final 30% of the brand was actually bought by the luxury outerwear brand – Moncler. The Chambray Collection features a musty, cool blue tone. The highlighted fabric is called Cotton Chambray Canvas, which is made from pure cotton; lightly washed out for a more retro look. Each piece has its very own little details, with features like zips and fastenings in a clean white tone. Overall, each garment has a boxy, oversized shape. These pieces would look great both paired together in one outfit, or just as a one-off piece to update your spring wardrobe into something more exciting. With the simple shapes and colours, these will make really great staple pieces – the collection would play an extremely versatile, and super easy role in modernising your everyday style. If you want to take a look at some of our favourite pieces from the new collection, plus with some ideas in how to style each one, take a look below.

First up, we’ve got the Chambray Canvas Utility Overshirt. This is a really cool looking shirt, which could be easily paired with baggy jeans or trousers for a relaxed looking outfit. Finish it off with some chunky trainers, and even a white t-shirt underneath, if you’d prefer to keep it unbuttoned and comfortable. To smarten up, chose a slightly slimmer fit on the leg with a black shoe.

Stone Island Chambray Canvas Utility Overshirt – £425 at Cruise Fashion.

The next piece we love from this collection is the Chambray Short. These shorts are perfect for summer, with an elasticated waistband to keep you as comfortable as possible in the hotter weather – not to mention the best dressed. You could pair these with a neutral shade tshirt or even go for a brighter tone like red for a bold pop of colour.

The Mac Chambray 3L Hooded Jacket is next. This is a really interesting looking piece, great for all seasons, it would be an investment which you can wear all year round. This statement jacket would look really good with some khaki or black cargo trousers and a matching bucket hat to finish the look off. Layer with an oversized jumper and a pair of dad shoes for a more old school look.
