Around a year since joining the New Balance team as an ambassador, Aminé, the rapper who has an obsession with bananas, has unveiled that he has a shoe collaboration with New Balance on the way and we’re all expecting a yellow colourway.
The Portland-born rapper took to Instagram to share a visual teaser that shows Aminé and two friends staring at a billboard that reads “A Kid from Portland Has His Own Sneaker” in New Balance’s traditional yellow typeface.
The billboard also shows New Balance branding and a crate of bananas, which is the logo of Aminé’s website and something the 29-year-old artist has always held dear to his heart – whether that’s because of his love for the colour yellow or love for potassium we do not know.
While the upcoming Aminé x New Balance collaboration is yet to be revealed, keen eyes would have noticed Aminé is wearing the silhouette in the visual teaser above. Only the toe portion of the shoe is on show, but we can see the silhouette boasts the same yellow hue as the billboard.
This is Aminé’s first New Balance collaboration and it’s been expected since Aminé became a New Balance ambassador last year and joined a star-studded list of other musical talents such as Jack Harlow and Jaden Smith.
Any official release date has so far been kept a secret, although reports tell us we should definitely expect it this year and we have a hunch we won’t be waiting much longer for further details.
