A mystery Premier League footballer who goes by the pseudonym “DIDE,” has just dropped his debut single “Thrill” and the internet is in agreement that it’s an instant hit.
He’s describes himself as a “rapper at home, footballer on the pitch” on his Instagram account, where he’s admitted to being a Premier League footballer and fans were rapid in discovering he must be from one of London’s top flight clubs as his new track “Thrill” clearly takes place in the heart of England‘s capital.
A variety of potential names are being considered as DIDE’s true identity, such as Reiss Nelson and Noni Madueke. However, Crystal Palace’s Wilfred Zaha and Arsenal‘s forward Eddie Nketiah seem to be the current fan favourites.Â
Regardless of who it is, DIDE’s talent for bars and rhymes are on full display in his new track, with references to the likes of Tottenham’s Harry Kane and PSG star, Neymar.
“Thrill” offers an insightful look into DIDE’s life behind the scenes, where his passion for the music scene is made clear from his refreshing and positive new rap tune.
This may be DIDE’s first official track, but the mystery rapper also dropped his “INTRO FREESTYLE” in mid-February this year, which also comes with accompanying visuals – found on his YouTube page.Â
He’s the first to keep his identity a mystery, but he’s not the first professional footballer to venture into the music scene. A lot of us will remember when former Liverpool forward, Daniel Sturridge tried his hand at music by launching his own record label, covering Drake songs and writing his own tracks during COVID.
Netherlands forward of Atlético Madrid, Memphis Depay also releases songs under his own name and regularly drops on Spotify, where he accumulates over 70,000 monthly listeners.Â
