First leaked at the beginning of this year, Patta have debuted their official teaser of their new Nike collaboration.
The highly anticipated Patta x Nike Air Max 1 ‘Monarch’ and ‘Noise Aqua’ colourways give a subtle nod to this classic silhouette and the culture behind it. Patta and Nike are renowned for making some of the most coveted collaborations within the sneaker industry, with previous editions including the Patta x Air Max 1 5th Anniversary ‘Chlorophyll’ and ‘Purple Denim’ colourways.
Their latest project is a refreshing take on the Air Max 1 model. The silhouette comes with a unique take on the classic mudguard… This time, the shape of the mudguard has waves reaching around the shoe to create a much more interesting dynamic than the classic smooth cut. Across the toe box is a layer of breathable grey mesh for extra comfort and flexibility. The shoe is structured with an outer layer of white and coloured leather across the heel and side panels on both lateral and medial sides of the foot. Each pair is adorned with the classic oversized Nike Swoosh branding, alongside a smaller Swoosh which sits on the outer toe and a Patta tag sat upon the tongue. Of course, no pair of Air Max 1’s would be complete without the classic chunky rubberized sole, which comes in an off-white shade to compliment the look.
Patta have teased the shoes on their Instagram, in a short video promoting their ‘The Wave’ project – seemingly fitting with the design of these shoes… Both pairs can be spotted in snippets of the video which hopefully indicates a potential drop in the near future.
There will be two colourways of the new Patta x Nike Air Max 1 collaboration. The first highlighting a cool Sea Blue colour, rumoured to be named ‘Noise Aqua’ and the second a Burnt Orange as the ‘Monarch’ colourway. There is no official release date, or further details from either brand, regarding these two colourways as of yet. However, these pairs are expected to drop on the official Nike and Patta sites, alongside potential selected retailers.
