OVO and Dsquared2 Re-join Forces for Second Collaboration

In May of last year, we were treated to a collaboration between music megastar Drake’s brand October’s Very Own (OVO) and Dsquared2. Featuring hoodies, denim jackets, sweatpants, t-shirts and both a beanie and baseball cap, all the items in the capsule collection were branded with an OVO-Dsquared2 hybrid logo. As two brands that are heavily focused on logos and branding, this collaboration made perfect sense.

Dsquared2 is often perceived to be a relatively new brand but it has in fact been around since 1995. Founded by twin brothers Dean and Dan Caten, the brand gained real notoriety after Madonna approached the twins to make her a personal 150-piece clothing collection for her 2001 ‘Drowned’ World tour and ‘Don’t Tell Me’ music video. Despite the boost Dsquared2 received from this celebrity affiliation, it was a whole 14 years later before they opened their first flagship store in London.

Drake’s brand OVO is much newer to the fashion scene, having only been founded in 2012 but despite this, the collab with Dsquared2 wasn’t the first partnership for the brand. OVO joined forces with Canadian basketball team Toronto Raptors for a 2013 collaboration that featured basketball jerseys as well as casual apparel including hoodies and t-shirts. The partnership made perfect sense for Drake who is a huge Raptors fan and was the start of a long list of collaborations with distinguished brands including Timberland, Roots and Canada Goose.

The second OVO X Dsquared2 range released on Saturday and is very similar to what we saw in the last capsule. This time however, the product range is larger and a little more colourful with red and royal blue featuring heavily. For those who prefer something a little more plain, many items still come in black and white. Some key pieces to note from this collab are the Nylon Windbreaker, which features a repeat pattern of the OVO X Dsquared2 logo and black denim jeans, also sporting the oversized logo.

Just like the last capsule collection, all items have gone down incredibly well with fans and consequently, a few items on the website have sold out already. There are still loads of great pieces available however but you better be quick if you want to stand hopes of grabbing anything. Fortunately for you, we’ve hooked you up with a link so you can shop the collaboration right here:
