Off White x Nike ‘Vapor Street’

The limited edition ‘Vapor Street’ iterations will be launched on 14th November in three new colourways.
First showcased on the Off-White SS19 catwalk in Paris, the second part of the ‘Athlete In Progress’ collection designed by Virgil Abloh, is finally to be released next week, possibly featuring some of the most unique and distinctive sneakers ever designed. The limited edition ‘Vapor Street’ iterations will be launched on 14th November in three new colourways.
The collection pays homage to the dedication of athletes, as the international running community have been breaking boundaries for decades through world records and impressive personal best times. As the Nike brand work so closely with those who partake in track and field event, this collaboration celebrates a merge between post-run apparel footwear and Nike’s classic running silhouettes.
“I started talking with Nike about this women’s running project last summer and at the time, I was very much inspired by the aesthetic and style of track and field athletes. As a result, I invited some of Nike’s elite track and field champions to participate in my SS19 Off-White runway show as the natural forerunner to developing and showcasing the collection,” Abloh told Nike.
Inspired by athlete track shoes, the ‘Vapor Street’ silhouette iteration features a mesh nylon textile upper which offers breathability and water resistance. Classic Nike swoosh branding features on the lateral side of the shoe which extends down to the foam midsole, and a duo lacing system enables wearers to get the perfect fit and maximum security. The spiked outsole detail is inspired by athlete’s track shoes, which gives an extra sporty aesthetic and a practical edge, as it allows the shoe more grip underfoot than a regular sneaker.
The silhouette will be available in three colourways, ‘Laser Fuchsia’, ‘Polarized Blue’ and ‘Tour Yellow’. Releasing on Thursday 14th, the shoes will be available from various retailers and sites.
