In celebration of Moncler‘s 70th anniversary, the French founded, Italian label has launched a series of collaborations featuring the iconic Moncler Maya 70 jacket and now it’s none other than Pharrell Williams’ turn to rework the famous jacket for the seventh and final collaboration.
Other collaboration of the jacket include the Moncler Maya 70 jacket by Thom Browne, the Moncler Maya 70 Jacket by Rick Owens and more that can be found at Luisaviaroma.Â
In my opinion, Moncler saved the best Maya 70 collaboration for last and what Pharrell’s done to this iconic staple piece proves his talents as a visionary. Take a look at the new jacket below:
The Humanrace founder crafted the new jacket with a molded polymeric material, providing the silhouette with a smooth, black surface area. As the finishing touch, the new jacket features miniature dots throughout the whole design with three-dimensional logo branding on them.Â
Pharrell Williams, who chose rapper & singer Tobe Nwigwe to model the new jacket in Moncler’s campaign, had this to say: “Getting to design the iconic Maya jacket with my own twist was a total honour. I knew from the beginning I wanted it to be all rubber.”
The Moncler Maya 70 jacket by Pharrell Williams is scheduled to be released via the Moncler webstore on Saturday 26 November.Â
