In celebration of Moncler‘s 70th anniversary, the luxury Italian fashion brand will begin an exciting project that will bring to life a series of designer collaborations and to kick off the collaborative project is Palm Angel‘s interpretation of the iconic Moncler Maya Jacket.
Initially founded as a photographic documentation of Los Angeles’s skater culture in 2011 and as a clothing brand in 2015, Palm Angels founder Francesco Ragazzi was not only responsible for evolving his own brand into a global streetwear powerhouse, but also for the creative revolution and repositioning of Moncler until 2019.
Since the beginning of Palm Angels, Ragazzi found inspiration for his brand within US culture, hip-hop culture, skater culture and general youth culture. He took these creative visions with him during his 12-year love affair with Moncler where he’s now greeted as a respected guest designer.
As Moncler celebrates its 70th anniversary, Ragazzi is once again taking center stage for a special collaboration that sees Palm Angels reinterpreting the iconic Moncler Maya Jacket.Â
The Palm Angels collaboration is set to kick off a series of designer collaborations with Moncler, including collaborations with Thom Browne, Rick Owens, Pharrell Williams and more.
For the Moncler Maya 70 jacket by Palm Angels, Ragazzi and the rest of the team worked closely with optic fibers to create a rather complex jacket that literally lights up.Â
Ragazzi explains that metaphorically speaking, the new lit up jacket is meant to shed light on the future and almost literally put the spotlight on it.
The new Moncler Maya 70 jacket by Palm Angels will be available from the Moncler webstore as of Saturday 15 October.
