Next up to launch its new home jersey for the approaching 2023/24 season is none other than Manchester City and their new kit that pays tribute to the Etihad Stadium – now available from JD Sports.
Decorated in traditional sky-blue and manufactured by PUMA since 2019, the new home kit marks 20 years since the club made its famous move to the Etihad stadium.
August 2003 was when Man City closed the door on 80 years at its Maine Road ground and moved three and a half miles away to its new home at the Etihad Stadium, and thereafter beginning a new era for the club.Â
Paying homage to this historic change for the club, the front of the new kit draws its inspiration from the unique architecture of the Etihad Stadium, such as the four giant turrets placed outside of the stadium that form the tonal stripes on the kit.
More features include the Etihad’s postcode printed on the back of the shirt’s neck, while the blue and white stripes on the V-neck collar mimics that of the first kit that was worn during the first season at the Etihad.Â
PUMA wasn’t done there as they added more futuristic features such as ULTRAWAVE fabrics that were integrated into the new strip, a 4-way stretch design that reduces weight and friction and dryCELL sweat-wicking technology to keep the wearer both dry and comfortable.Â
Crafted in 100% recycled polyester, Man City’s 2023/24 Authentic Home Shirt is available from JD Sports for £120 while the slightly cheaper replica 2023/24 Home Shirt is available for £75.00Â
