Following a management shake-up between two luxury labels, Louis Vuitton has now appointment Pietro Beccari, former Head of Christian Dior Couture, to the role of Chairman and CEO of Louis Vuitton.

Beccari has now succeeded Michael Burke, who still has a role to play at Louis Vuitton and will receive new responsibilities and report directly to Bernard Arnault, CEO of LVMH (Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton).

For those that aren’t sure, Louis Vuitton and LVMH are not the same thing. The latter was founded in 1987 and merged with Louis Vuitton that same year. It’s name includes two leading manufacturers of champagne and cognac and together both labels offer goods from all five major sectors: wines & spirits, fashion & leather goods, perfumes & cosmetics, watches & jewelry and selective retailing.

Bernard Arnault had this to say: “Pietro Beccari has done an exceptional job at Christian Dior over the past five years. His leadership has accelerated the appeal and success of this iconic Maison. I am sure Pietro will lead Louis Vuitton to the next level of success and desirability.”

You can find an image of Bernard Arnault, CEO of LVMH below, while an image of Pietro Beccari, the new CEO of Louis Vuitton can be found above.

All this staff swapping gets a little confusing now that Delphine Arnault, former Executive Vice President of Louis Vuitton, is set to succeed Beccari as Head of Christian Dior Couture.

Bernard Arnault added this: “The appointment of Delphine Arnault is another milestone in a career journey in fashion and leather goods defined by excellence, first during 12 years at Christian Dior and then at Louis Vuitton for the past decade, where she was number two with responsibility for all of the Maison’s product activities.

“Her keen insights and incomparable experience will be decisive assets in driving the ongoing development of Christian Dior.”

The last big change that’s occurred comes from Charles Delapalme, EVP of Christian Dior Couture since 2018 who has now been appointed as Managing Director of Christian Dior Couture.

With all of these changes between Louis Vuitton and Christian Dior, It’s easy to wonder whether we’ll be seeing similarities within any upcoming collections in 2023, or if the new Heads of both labels have any new ideas to take Louis Vuitton and Christian Dior in directions we’ve not seen them take before.
