As nations around the world are now applying the final touches to their signature match kits for the approaching 2022 FIFA World Cup, legendary Japanese designer NIGO has taken the reins on Adidas’ Japan National Football Team Kit as the collection is unveiled at Adidas.

Best known as the creator of the high-end fashion label A Bathing Ape and currently working as creative director for Kenzo, NIGO’s new Japan football kit has taken its inspiration from the natural beauty of cherry blossoms – Japan’s national flower.

Each piece of the new collection arrives with a soft, subdued combination of pink and green hues, offering a refreshing and eye-catching appearance throughout.

The kit collection is comprised of a selection of tracksuits, shorts, T-shirts, socks, caps, beanies and of course, the match-ready football kits.

Alongside the JFA and Adidas branding, each piece features a heart-shaped cherry blossom signature while on both the football kit and shorts, we can see a “22” print – echoing the importance of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The new Japan football jersey designed by NIGO is now available from the Adidas website for £110.00. The rest of the kit collection is expected to drop over the coming days.
