British designer Kim Jones, has unveiled his new collaboration with the cognac brand, Hennessy X.O, for a new three-piece collection that includes Hennessy X.O’s first consumer-facing luxury fashion item.

Currently the artistic director of men’s collections at Dior and head of womenswear at Fendi, Jones creative vision has merged with Hennessy X.O’s 150-year heritage for an exclusive capsule consisting of a pair of HNY Low by Kim Jones trainers, a limited edition bottle, and a Masterpiece decanter.

Described as a collection that “bridges street and luxury,” the collectable trainers are designed by Jones, inspired by early basketball shoes and crafted in a light cognac-toned nubuck leather.

The trainers are finished off with a technical sole in tonal grooved rubber with an imprint of cognac vines and the Hennessy X.O x Kim Jones logo on its underside, plus KJ and Hennessy initials atop of the heel.

In a statement, Jones explained: “I wanted it to be elevated and chic, to reflect both the long heritage of cognac and my own design values. I wanted it to feel like you’re almost looking into the bottle. It’s a glass of cognac in sneaker form.”

As seen in the gallery above, every purchased pair of the HNY Low by Kim Jones arrives in a oak shoebox that represents the barrels used to age the spirit.

Accompanying the trainers is the ultra-luxury Hennessy X.O Masterpiece decanter and limited edition bottle – both designed by Jones, produced using 3D printing technology and finished by hand.

The artistic decanter aims at showing an example of how humanity and technology can work together to create something unique.

The Hennessy X.O x Kim Jones collection will launch online at HBX.com from Friday, March 17 and in-store at Flannels in London from March 27.

It’s been reported that the exclusive trainers will hit the shelves for £620, the limited-edition 70cl Hennessy X.O bottle will be priced at £200 and the Masterpiece decanter will set you back £25,000.
