Kano continues his venture into menswear as he joins the likes of Skepta as one of the new faces of Daniel Lee’s newly rebranded Burberry.

The legendary MC is venturing further into the world of fashion as he’s recently launched the FLANNELS exclusive Kano x C.P. Company collection and is now placed front and center for the most recent Burberry campaign.

Following Daniel Lee’s publicised departure from Bottega Veneta, Lee’s proved his commitment to take Burberry back to its roots as the British luxury houses new Chief Creative Officer.

One of Lee’s tactics has been to muster an assemblage of UK talent such as Shygirl, Georgia May Jagger, and Lennon Gallagher, plus Lee’s soft spot for the UK Grime scene has welcomed Skepta and now Kano into the Burberry family.

Shot and filmed by Tyrone Lebon (a photographer Lee worked with at Bottega Veneta), the rapper, songwriter, and actor has been captured atop an East Ham road sign, Kano’s home town while sporting a classic Burberry trench coat.

The second shot depicts the 37-year-old in a black and white close-up, donning an all-black blazer and turtle neck with Burberry‘s reshaped motif making an appearance in both shots.

The new motif is a part of Lee’s rebranding strategies and reverts back to Burberry‘s “Equestrian Knight” logo that was initially used at the beginning of the 20th century.

The reworked logo replaces the Sans-Serif-style logo that Burberry has been using since early 2018. It’s a similar, uninspiring, and geometric design that a lot of fashion labels have opted for in recent years.

We’re only six months into Lee’s new role at Burberry and he’s already made his approach and targets very clear – is it safe to say Burberry is back on the rise?
