The Balenciaga Triple S trainers have been a popular footwear choice for years. And with any popular shoe on the market there is also some good fakes. If you want to know how to spot a fake, then keep on reading and give Hox’s video a watch below. If you want a pair of Balenciaga triple soles then take a look at Selfridges. And head over to our shop page to find more Balenciaga luxury trainers.

INSOLE

The first way to spot a fake is by checking the insole. A genuine trainer will have the Balenciaga logo embossed onto the sole, the fakes tend to have a sticker that show the logo. And some fakes might not have anything at all on the sole.

SIZING

On all Triple S trainers is the European size printed on the front. You will have to look close to check this but the number on the fake is usually stitched poorly. When comparing it with a real trainer you will notice the stitching is tighter and much neater.

MATERIAL

Another way to tell is by having a look at the material. The trainers have a mesh fabric covering the front of the shoe. The fake trainers use a large honeycomb shaped, thin mesh that is quite flimsy. In comparison, the genuine Balenciaga’s use a much smaller and thicker mesh which keeps a sturdy shape.

LOGO

The Balenciaga logo is stitched on the side of the trainer, so check the font. The font on the fake is very wide and can be messy. But the genuine logo is neat and clear to read. It’s obvious that everything on a fake trainer has been rushed, but the good quality really shows on the genuine.

‘Balenciaga’ is printed on the sole of both the real and the fake of the trainers. But the fake logo is quite flat. Whereas the real logo is embossed into the sole, so it sticks out. The font on the genuine is also much thicker.

GLUE

Keep an eye out for any dried glue on the sole as this is a tell-tale sign that it’s a fake. A genuine Balenciaga trainer will not have any glue marks on the sole or any other part of the shoe.
