Today, Fortnite have announced their latest fashion venture with iconic luxury label, Moncler. Just two months ago, Fortnite released their first ever collaboration with a high-fashion brand which was Balenciaga. They made 4 skins that were available to purchase. This was Fortnite’s first collaboration with a fashion house and many speculated that it wouldn’t be the last.

Called the ‘Moncler Classic Set,’ it includes the Andre and Renee outfits completely inspired by the 6 Moncler 1017 ALYX 9SM collection. Players will also be able to choose between light and dark styles or even a new reactive style. The reactive style will transition from light to dark as the players altitude gets higher. And back from dark to light as the altitude decreases.
You will also be able to get your hands on several new accessories, including an Umbra-Tube Back Bling, Umbra-Axe Pickaxe and a Para-Pluie Glider. The partnership also means you will get a new loading screen, the ‘Summit Loading Screen’ which pays homage to Moncler’s mountain heritage. Take a look at the images below to see more.
Fortnite was once just a game, but with over 350 million accounts and collaborations with artists and brands it has become so much more… Now known for combining the physical and digital world for a fully immersive experience. However, Fortnite’s developer, Epic Games, isn’t the first video game to collaborate with a fashion house. In May, Gucci partnered with Roblox and in 2019 Louis Vuitton made skins for characters in League of Legends.
Matthew Williams, creative director at Moncler’s ALYX 9SM said: “It’s been very interesting working with the team at Epic and Moncler to bring the 6 MONCLER 1017 ALYX 9SM collection to life inside a vibrant digital space like Fortnite. The new 6 MONCLER 1017 ALYX 9SM collection celebrates when light meets the dark, the collaboration with Fortnite explores this concept in completely new ways.” He continued, “Digital materials do not follow the rules of the physical world, allowing us to be more creative with these new in-game reactive outfits, they transition from light to dark depending on the altitude of the player inside the game. As Moncler was born in the mountains, the new styles in Fortnite authentically honor that heritage.”
