The team at Stone Island are always thinking of new innovative ideas and the Italian label’s research and development team have been busy working on their new Stone Island Footwear Program – split into three subcultural categories.
Available now from BSTN, Stone Island’s taken inspiration from a football-inspired silhouette as its reference, the ‘Rock,’ a classic low-cut mixture of the ’70s retro trainers and the last three silhouettes are inspired by the UK’s grime culture.
Stone Island‘s first selection of trainers draw their inspiration from evergreen football styles, celebrating Stone Island’s philosophy of monochromatic colour and material blends. The upper is crafted with a metallic ripstop nylon, combined with polished and soft suede leathers. The trainers also feature a series of visual cues from the football scene, combined with industrial brushed rubber and embossed finishes.
Priced at £254.99 from BSTN, the football inspired kicks have arrived in Verde Chiaro, Bordeaux and Nero.

The next silhouettes titled the ‘Rock’ are a blend of the classic low-cut mixture of the ’70s retro trainers and military trainers. Features include an upper made from polished and soft suede leathers, debossed compass logos, artisanal topstitches, the premium gum rubber outsole and the lace tips which are a direct reference to Stone Island‘s iconic black metal trims.

Finishing off the new collection is the last three silhouettes, which celebrate the UK’s Grime culture. The finest man-made uppers are combined with premium rubberised leather, a reinforced moulded military toe cap and a tactical articulated outsole. Also drawing ideas from the Stone Island archives, the new trainers feature the moulded rubber tongue and the artisanal stitched nylon fabric – helping the shoes represent a blend of cultural references.
The Stone Island UK Grime inspired trainers from BSTN are priced at £289.99 and arrive in Bianco, the vibrant orange Arancio and the darker shade of Nero.
