Months after EA Sports and FIFA ended its 30-year-long relationship, EA are reportedly closing in on a $588 million USD deal to become the lead partner with the English Premier League.

As reported by Sky Sports – the deal will be a six-year partnership between EA Sports and the Premier League, providing the gaming company with exclusive gaming license rights within the new contract.

The new deal between EA Sports and the Premier League is estimated to be “worth more than double the existing deal involving the two parties.”

Explained on the FIFA 23 website: “EA SPORTS FIFA 23 is the only place where you can experience the competition, energy and excitement of the world’s most popular league.

“Play with all 20 Premier League clubs, complete with their 2022/23 kits and logos and an authentic broadcast, commentary, and pre-match choreography package making it the most authentic representation of the league; exclusive to FIFA 23 players.”

The $588 million USD deal doesn’t only include rights to the Premier League, but it is also so that EA can become one of the main sponsors – including referee uniforms to the Premier League’s Player of the Month award.

Now that EA and FIFA have officially ended their relationship after 30 years – games that feature the FIFA branding will be rebranded under the EA moniker.

If there was ever any more debate surrounding the best football simulation video game between FIFA and Pro Evolution Soccer (known as PES until being renamed eFootball in 2021). The new lucrative deal surely places FIFA at the top of the pyramid.
